Apple has confirmed that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held from June 8 to 12, 2026, offering developers and the public an initial glimpse of significant updates for its platforms, including advancements in AI and new software tools.

The conference will kick off with a special in-person event at Apple Park, which will also be streamed online through platforms like YouTube and the Apple Developer app.

While Apple occasionally unveils new hardware during WWDC, the primary focus of the event is typically on major software updates that will be tested throughout the summer and launched alongside new iPhones and other products in the fall. Although details about the upcoming releases remain limited, expectations include iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, enhancements to the Liquid Glass design language, and the discontinuation of support for the last Intel Macs.

This year, similar to previous events, most of the developer-focused sessions will be conducted online. However, the keynote address and the technical Platforms State of the Union presentation will take place as live, in-person events on June 8. Apple will also provide opportunities on that day for attendees to interact with Apple engineers and designers, as well as connect with the global developer community. In-person passes will be distributed via a lottery system for those who apply.

There's a possibility that the anticipated “more personal Siri” feature, initially announced in 2024, may debut with iOS 27 instead of being an update for iOS 26. Apple had previously indicated that this feature would launch in 2026, leaving room for either scenario.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has a number of hardware updates that are reportedly ready but are being withheld until the Siri update is finalized. These updates include a refreshed HomePod mini and Apple TV box, which have not received updates since 2020 and 2022, respectively. Additionally, an updated base-model iPad featuring an A18 or A19 chip, designed to support Apple Intelligence, is also expected this year. Although it was suggested that this could launch alongside the MacBook Neo and M4 iPad Air earlier this month, that did not occur.
